About

My interest in broadcast news started when I was a freshman in high school. Growing up watching great storytellers in the Twin Cities cultivated a firm belief that everyone has a story to tell. I want to tell their stories. This principle has guided me through the past eight years and cultivated a profound respect for local news and good storytelling.

I started working towards a career in journalism during high school by anchoring my school’s weekly telecasts. I furthered my involvement by creating, editing, writing, and anchoring a weekly sports segment for the newscast. I continued my work in college where I was a part on-campus media for three years. Not only did I serve as an anchor and multimedia journalist, I was also the News Director/Executive Studio Producer for two of those three years. I have experience shooting, editing, and writing for both broadcast and online text media. My “one-man-band” training has been invaluable during my internships at KARE-11 in Minneapolis, KEYC-TV in Mankato, and KMSP-FOX 9.

During these internships, I was able to take on the duties of a reporter while learning from some of the best in the business. I was able to interview athletes from high school level to professionals. I also wrote scripts and edited material for air, many times under extreme deadlines.

My experiences so far have not only prepared me to take my first ‘official’ step into the broadcasting industry, but they have further strengthened my passion and drive for this career. What you see on this website is a tiny picture of what I have done so far, but this website, like me, is still a work in progress. Email me comments because I am continually learning.

And be sure to check back…I’m just getting started.
